Setting up goals: step-by-step instructions If automatic goals are not

If necessary, check the box next to the item “Selected goal” (more on this below), set the condition for its achievement botswana business email list and click the “Add goal” button. For any goal, you can specify income in the currency specified in the counter settings (in our case, rubles). This will allow you to evaluate the effectiveness of each target action for the business in money.

Here are the conditions you can set for each goal type:

  • for the “Number of views” type , set the target number of pages viewed by the user per session;
  • For the “Page Visit” type , set the URL parameters:

  • For the “Visit duration” type , specify the time spent by the user on the site (hours, minutes, or even seconds) at which the system will count this visit as a target action.

  • for the “JavaScript Event” type , set the identifier:

In this case, a code will appear in the “Target code for number of indexed words the site” field, which the programmer will only need to copy and add to the task.

The “JavaScript event” type goal is used to track user actions on the page that do not change the URL. For example, calling a popup form or launching an embedded video on the page. In order for Metrica to “understand” that the user has performed one of these actions, a written identifier is added to the button or link code. The identifier should not contain special characters /, #, ?, =, &. We also recommend not using words in identifiers that are contained in the page URL.

To add an identifier, you need access to the code or the site’s administrative panel (this depends on  the CMS ). Follow  Yandex’s instructions if you do it yourself, or use the help of a programmer. After installation, do not forget  to check whether the goal works .
